Hospitals and Clinics Benefit From Your Assistance

Medical facilities carry out distribution of Mobility Carts around the globe.

“I am so happy. Please help others, too,” said Sibusiso in his broken speech.

Here are some reports from healthcare organizations or volunteers who are grateful to be able to give out your mobility gifts. The Luke Commission has been our long-term medical partner that has received multiple ocean-going containers over 10 years.

“His older brother accompanied the 38-year-old man who shook as he walked, weak and wobbly on his feet.

Sibusiso Kunene of rural Swaziland was brought to a Luke Commission mobile hospital outreach, “because someone told me I must come today and see this cart which could help me be a man again.”

In the family bakkie (truck), the brother Jabulani Shongwe transported the disabled man with strong shoulders and arms but a weakened lower body. His speech was also slurred. Sibusiso lives with his brother, his brother’s wife, and the couple’s four children….

Five years ago, Sibusiso returned from a job in South Africa and could no longer walk. He did not seek medical help or go see a doctor….

The brothers were instructed how to care for the cart and given tools to keep it in good repair. “This cart is from people in America who love Jesus,” TLC staff told the pair.

TLC has been known to stop in the
road, when they see someone in need
on the way to a mobile clinic.

MedShare is another long term partner. They gather medical supplies from around the US, catalog, and offer to medical agencies around the around. Our Mobility Carts are on the list. Our production shops supply their warehouses in CA and GA at their headquarters. These hospitals were benefactors of our cooperation.

“VOTE OF THANKS” TO MOBILITY WORLDWIDE AND MEDSHARE

  • Ekwendeni Mission Hospital Operates in a remote/hard to reach area together with its two sister Hospitals in Malawi. The people it serves are very poor and they live on less than a Dollar per day, and they are vulnerable to diseases due to lack of money for them to access good health care.
  • With the donation of Mobility Carts donated through Ekwendeni Hospital by Mobility Worldwide with shipping help from MedShare, people are very thankful now that among other things, they will be able to go to church and pray together with their friend without any problem.
  • Words are not enough to express the feelings/appreciations, but Management and Staff of Ekwendeni Hospital and the community it is
serving are praying to the almighty God to abundantly bless all those who have made it possible for such help to reach those who need it the most.

“MAY GOD BLESS YOU!!!”

Neither could walk without assistance.

Janet Gilbert in mid MO goes with a medical team to Honduras each year thru Baptist Medical & Dental Fellowship. This year she saw they had some new carts there to distribute. She said this young lady in the picture came in to her clinic with a mother and sister of similar age (both young teens). Neither could walk without assistance. The mother walked with each daughter in and out of the clinic. This daughter seemed to be better able to crank the cart. A small boy/relative about 3 years old hopped into the cargo space and off they went.

She asked the doctor what was their ailment. He did not know, but both had a syndrome.

She also saw more carts in use at a church that had a school.

Bhutti’s Life Is Changed With Mobility!

$30,000 match has been offered to help more persons with leg handicaps.

Bhutti was injured in a farming accident five years ago. She suffered a spinal cord injury which left her unable to walk. Soon she found herself trapped in her own home, until she received her Mobility Cart a few months ago. Now she has mobility & more and her life (along with her husband’s) has greatly improved. With your support, we can help even more people like Bhutti by getting them into a Mobility Cart. Please consider making a donation to Mobility Worldwide so we receive the matching funds that have been promised!

Three generous Mobility Worldwide donors issued the challenge. “We will match all donations dollar for dollar up to a total of $30,000!” If you participate, your donation will be doubled, ensuring more people in need are helped.

Can we count on your financial support this Easter season?

Through the efforts of hundreds of volunteers across the US at 20 shops, staff in Zambia, and even more donors, we had the second highest year of production. In addition, 86,614 volunteer hours were reported. (Within our entire organization, we only have several paid staff in total which includes full and part time.) We’re off to a great start in 2018. In February, our Affiliate known as Mobility Worldwide Memphis celebrated their 700th cart since they started in 2010. With your help, we could break the 7,000 mark for 2018.

Yama Gets the Therapy She Needs

Yama’s mom could no longer tote her
daughter on her back to get to therapy.

Our distribution partner, Point Hope, sent this report through their 10 year partnership with Harmony Center for the Disabled who helps the Liberian refugee population. “Joe Worthington, an LPN from Wyoming, has been living in Ghana for the last 6 years working with children with special needs alongside Point Hope…. The “Pull” cart helped bring hope to Yama’s family!

‘As a baby, Yama contracted malaria through which she developed a fever that resulted in a seizure that lasted several minutes, causing severe brain damage… She had no head control, could not sit up, and had no speech.

Today Yama is 12 years old and can sit in a chair, has good head control, and can take independent steps about 90 % of the time with assistance. She still has limited speech, but receives physical therapy 5 days a week ….Joe’”
