“The people of this community have never seen an event like this”

One of our Mobility Worldwide (PET) affiliates is the New Life Mission in Zambia. They make PETs and distribute to a wide area in Africa, sometimes hauling them 800 or more miles. Here is a story from one of their earlier distributions:
“The second load of 50 PETs went rolling down the road in our big truck to their final destination in Chinsali. Within the Chinsali community, they have 224 people identified as seriously disabled. The event was a great opportunity for many of the churches of the area to come together to celebrate God’s love for the people there.
“The event was truly ecumenical as The Roman Catholic Church, The New Apostolic Church, The Pentecostal Assemblies of Zambia, The United Methodist Church, and the United Church of Zambia all came together to celebrate.
“There were many district representatives present, including the District Commissioner who said, ” The people of this community have never seen an event like this since independence.” He went on to thank all who had any part in the deliverance of the PETs, and he recognized the huge contribution it made to the community.
‘Mr. Kenneth Kalachi, PET Zambia’s Field Representative, said, “We are looking forward to many more people participating in this project. As you can see, the need is great.”
PET Zambia produces and delivers over 500 PETs a year, with a goal of at least a thousand. And that will still meet only a small part of the need.
