This 65-year-old man was crippled by polio as a child. Mohamed worked hard his whole life and is now a master sewing-machine mechanic. In his shop, he employs about ten young men and a few women. Never able to walk without crutches, Mohamed has always wanted an arm-powered Mobility Cart to help him get around. These devices are in limited supply in Sierra Leone. They are not for sale and only available from two charity organizations. On April 10, Africa Surgery presented Mohamed with his first-ever cart, one of the 60 we shipped to Sierra Leone last October.
