Pak Made is 47 years old. He lives in the Penarukan area of Singaraja, North Bali.
In 2001, he was travelling as a passenger, asleep in the rear of a small Pick-up truck, when the vehicle was involved in a serious Road accident.
Made fractured his spine when he was thrown several meters from the vehicle during the accident.
He has been paraplegic ever since, not leaving his home at all in the past 20 years. He is kindly cared for by his brother, and brother’s family.
Today a new chapter of his life began when the GVF team delivered Pak Made his first Mobility Cart wheelchair.
Today He was able to travel outside of his home for the first time since 2001
Made has good upper body strength. With a little practice on his Mobility Cart, he will soon be moving around his neighborhood again, visiting friends, and locations he hasn’t seen in many years.
