Global Village Foundation prototypes motorized Mobility Cart

Kalanganyar Beach. North Bali.
As many of you already know, Global Village Foundation is the leading distributor of Free wheelchairs for the poorest disabled Children & Adults of Bali, & East Java.
It has been the goal of Global Village Foundation for some time to build here in Bali, low cost, easily maintained, robust electric powered wheelchairs.
Some of the disabled adults we meet do not have the strength to operate a standard wheelchair or a Mobility Cart, but still (as we all do) want the freedom to live an independent dignified life.
What they need, are strong rugged electric wheelchairs
A standard Electric wheelchair can be purchased in Bali from approx. IDR22,000,000, (A$2200) but they are not designed for Bali’s tough conditions so quickly break. They are also far out of the price range anyway of most who need them
In recent days the GVF team have completed our first prototype Electric Mobility Cart.
For this the team have adapted a MOBILITY WORLDWIDE Pull Cart. fitted with a 48volt Indonesian made Electric motor.
On Christmas day 2021, our talented young wheelchair engineer Eric took this first prototype out for a test drive around Kalanganyar beach North Bali. (Please enjoy the short video)
There are still refinements to make, but GVF is on its way to soon providing robust Electric powered wheelchairs (at no cost) to the poorest disabled citizens of Bali most in need of one. All we need to make this happen is your support.
