JoAnn Shore Fund for Servant Leadership
In memory of JoAnn Shore, a Mobility Worldwide volunteer and late wife of longtime Advisor, Rev. Walter Hays, the Fund aims to support the next generation of leaders through the power of humanitarian work.
Who is this for?
The JoAnn Shore Fund (JAS) was created for young adults (18-35) interested in exploring new cultures and being exposed to humanitarian work. Those interested are invited to apply. Participants can expect to learn more about Mobility Worldwide and the mobility issues many across the globe. This will deepen their empathy and respect for others, as well as an appreciation for different cultures, perspectives, and challenges.
JAS Requirements
- Be 18-35 years old with an active passport
- Fill out an application and submit before June 1, 2025
- Complete interviews with JoAnn Shore Selection Committee Members
Those selected as recipients will be allocated a subsidy from the JoAnn Shore Fund to help reduce costs for the trip. At the conclusion of the trip, recipients will be asked to submit a reflection about their experience to Mobility Worldwide. This can come in the form of journal entries, a short essay, and/or photo boards.
Prior to the trip, recipients will have scheduled discussions with Mobility Worldwide team members to go over cultural sensitivity training and a robust resource guide will be given to all recipients that outlines everything that can be expected.
