Mr. Mejia is a 50-year-old resident of Quezaltepeque, El Salvador. He is a devoted father to two daughters and a cherished grandfather of four grandchildren
Mr. Mejia was drafted into the El Salvador Civil War at just 16 years old, where he endured a traumatic injury caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) that claimed his left leg and severely damaged his right.
